If you’re a connoisseur of the great arts of literature and dining, or even if you just enjoy the company of a good cup of coffee with your Sidney Sheldon, then these amazing places in Delhi are a must (MUST!) visit for you.
1. Ivy & Bean, Shahpur Jat
Located in Shahpur Jat, dazzling with amazing chandeliers and a very comfortable ambience, is the famous Australian ‘Ivy & Bean’. They have certain peculiar but intriguing beverages and appetizers, but students enjoy their bagels and pancakes the most. An average meal here may cost around 1200/- for two people. They have a wider variety of books, than of food items and you must find your way to Ivy & Beans to at least try the comforts of Australian cuisine (especially if you ever watched MasterChef Australia) right here in Shahpur Jat!
2. Cha Bar, Connaught Place
Peacefully nestled right in the middle of all the hustle bustle of the happening Connaught Place, is our Cha Bar which is the must-visit place for every literature enthusiast, poet, reader and writer. It is in collaboration with the Oxford Bookstore. They have a very modest (and comparatively cheaper) menu as it is mainly a bookstore oriented café which boasts of having books in almost all languages. They also hold Recitations and open mics and a lot of other events which all the aspiring poets must look out for!
3. Café Turtle, Khan Market
The Café Turtle located in Khan Market is ‘the place to be’ for all booklovers, it’s a café connected to the Full Circle bookstore. It’s an awesome place to hangout and go shopping for books. The average cost for a meal of two is around 1100/- We highly recommend their quesadillas and cold coffee with ice cream as the perfect combination to accompany a good book. Their ambience and décor is extremely pleasant and creative, serving to enhance your reading experience.
4. MayDay Bookstore and Café, Patel Nagar
Located in Patel Nagar, this café serves the purpose of being away from the ruins of fast urban life and being able to enjoy a good book in the company of good food at an even better price in absolute peace. They have a haphazard décor which somehow fits rightly and gives you the perfect ambience. You must visit if you’re looking for a day that lets you interact with like minded booklovers or just sit in self introspection via the mirror of a book!
5. Another Fine Day, Gurgaon
‘Another Fine Day’, it’s plain yet catchy name is rightly so because you couldn’t possibly have a bad day nestled up in this cozy and comfortable café on the Golf Course Road. Meal for two here would cost around 800/- They have a limited number of books but you may carry a load of your own to read in a quiet corner. The ambience is excessively welcoming and perfect for a lazy day spent reading with as much coffee as you’d like.
